John Terry has singled out the defensive work of Chelsea’s attacking players as key to their excellent start to the season.

Jose Mourinho’s men have been relentless going forward so far, netting 21 times in the League – seven more than second-best Manchester City – but have also been solid at the back, only conceding seven goals.

And while captain Terry has praised the work of his fellow defenders, he also believes the tracking back of his forwards has been vital.

“Everyone was questioning the defence early on in the season, but it’s going to happen,” Terry said.

“There are so many good teams and individuals in the League, we are going to concede goals.
