Collins not too disheartened

13 April 2012

Fulham midfielder John Collins was not too disappointed after the goalless draw at home to Derby.

Jim Smith set out a defensive side and his tactics frustrated the Cottagers.

But Steed Malbranque spurned a glorious chance of securing the points for Fulham four minutes from time when he over-ran the ball.

Collins said: "We have to take it as a compliment they way Derby played.

"They got men behind the ball and blocked shots and we found it difficult to find space.

"We played well enough and dominated the game. The problem was that Derby always seemed to have at least five defenders.

"It is always disappointing for the fans when you don't get three points at home and I can understand their frustration.

"But we have to remain patient. It is no use humping balls up the park in the hope of scoring."
