Coppell - Wright talk is wrong

Reading boss Steve Coppell has denied Ian Wright will join the club in a coaching capacity.

Wright was linked with the Royals after appearing at the Madejski Stadium as a pundit for last month's 3-2 FA Cup fifth round replay defeat by Manchester United.

But Coppell said: "I've had an open invite for 'Satch' to come down for many years. I keep asking him if he wants to come down and do a forward session. He always says yes but I know he never will."

He added: "He's too busy - I think he's out in South Africa at the moment playing golf."
