Sussex v Surrey

Sussex made a great start at Hove today after winning the toss and electing to bat.
Openers Richard Montgomerie and Murray Goodwin are unbeaten on 67 and 74 respectively.
Mark Ramprakash has been reprimanded by the England and Wales Cricket Board for "using language or a gesture that is obscene or of a serious insulting nature" against Middlesex on 26 July. He has received three penalty points.

Ashley Noffke struck twice before lunch at Trent Bridge today after Nottinghamshire had won the toss and elected to bat. Noffke claimed the wicket of Vikram Atri, caught behind by David Nash, to leave the hosts at 13-2. He then bowled Russell Warren (33). Opener Guy Welton was trapped lbw by Chad Keegan after facing two balls, while Darren Bicknell (39) was caught and bowled by Joe Dawes.

Kent v Essex

Ed Smith's unbeaten 75 helped Kent out of trouble this morning, after Robert Key's miserable run with the bat continued at Canterbury. The Kent opener was dismissed lbw for just six runs by Essex medium pacer Antonio Palladino, who has taken three wickets.
The home side were 128 for six at lunch.
