Arthur seeks ‘missing link’ in Aussie side

13 July 2012

Australia coach Mickey Arthur today has demanded better from his underperforming one-day side.

The South African said the 4-0 thumping at the hands of England was a reality check for his team, who could be toppled as the world’s top-ranked one-day team by England later this summer.

“I’ve always said there has been something missing in our one-day squad,” Arthur said. “Our Test team is very settled but the one-day team is still a little bit uncertain. Inconsistency has been a trait of this team and I don’t like that.

“We’ve got to get back to winning consistently because that’s what the public of Australia deserve and that’s what we stand for.

“We don’t like being beaten and we’ve got to come back strong.”
