Bowled over! Lord's weathervane Father Time knocked down in London winds

High winds: North London's elements knocked Father Time on his back
Standard Sport30 March 2015

Lord’s Cricket Ground’s famous weathervane was blown over during high winds in London over the weekend.

Specialists are working to restore 'Father Time' it to its original position after the near-90-year-old figure was knocked flat on its back.

This is not the first time the weathervane has fallen foul of the elements; in 1992 it was struck by lightning and the subsequent repairs were featured on Blue Peter.

Father Time was given to MCC in 1926 by the architect of the original Lord’s Grand Stand, Sir Herbert Baker, and spent World War II in the cricket ground's cellar.
