Crocked spinner Graeme Swann may fly home

10 April 2012

Graeme Swann must prove his fitness for England's World Cup campaign after being ruled out of the rest of the one-day series against Australia with a back problem.

Swann will return to this country for further treatment. He had missed the second and third
one-day internationals of the current Commonwealth Bank series because of knee trouble.

The off-spinner is a key man for England in all forms of cricket and he is expected to be ready when they begin against Holland in Nagpur, India, on 22 February.

Team-mate Ian Bell said: "He has been struggling a little bit, but the most important thing is that he is fit for the World Cup.

"I hope it's not too serious and that he'll be raring to go when he gets to Bangladesh."
