England's entire World Cup squad will take a break from their pre-tournament preparations to run with former captain Andrew Strauss at the Vitality Westminster Mile in honour of his late wife Ruth.

The team’s ex-director of cricket will line up with captain Eoin Morgan and his players for the Ruth Strauss Foundation Family Mile at the event on Sunday, May 26, five days ahead of England’s tournament opener against South Africa.

The foundation was set up after Ruth died in December from a rare form of lung cancer.
