New Zealand's tail-end batsmen put England bowlers Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes to the sword on day two of the second Investec Test at Headingley.

The tourists were eventually all out for 350, having added 53 runs to their overnight total in 7.1 overs, as their lower-order players continued the aggressive approach that reaped rewards on the opening day.

Mark Craig was particularly impressive with five fours and a six in his unbeaten 41, but he ran out of partners after Broad took the final wickets to wrap up the innings.

Paceman Broad completed his five-wicket haul yet leaked 109 runs in total as he and fellow seamer Stokes came in for some heavy punishment.

Matt Henry creamed Broad over midwicket for six but departed for a quick-fire 27 to the next ball after attempting another heave, only to edge to Jos Buttler behind the stumps.

But the last-wicket pair added another 40 runs to frustrate England captain Alastair Cook before last man Trent Boult spooned a delivery from Broad up in the air and was pouched by Adam Lyth at point.

England began their innings with some work to do as Cook set out needing just another 32 runs to overtake Graham Gooch's record as the country's leading all-time Test run-scorer.
