ICC chief's statement was ridiculous, says angry Ottis

10 April 2012

Ottis Gibson has hit out at ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat for what he believes was an attempt to play down last week's attack on the West Indies team bus.

The Windies bus was stoned as they returned to their hotel after Friday's victory over Bangladesh in what Lorgat deemed "a minor incident".

But coach Gibson said: "I want to remind Haroon Lorgat of his responsibility. He can't sit in a hotel room and say they were pebbles.

"We heard the glass smashing and it didn't seem to be pebbles, so we believe that was a ridiculous statement to make. We don't want to make a big thing out of it but to us, it wasn't a minor incident."
