Mark Wood has been passed fit to play for England's third ODI against New Zealand.

The fast bowler missed the opening two matches when the left-ankle injury that forced him to miss the Ashes flared up again.

But scans revealed no major damage and the 28-year-old is available for selection for the match at Westpac Stadium here.

England may be reluctant to change the team following the six-wicket victory on Wednesday that levelled the five-match series.

Jonny Bairstow is also fit after tripping over a water bottle while signing autographs during the game and injuring his ankle.

“It’s a bit swollen and a bit sore but you just get through it,” he said. “I don’t think it’s going to affect me for too long, and it’s just a case of icing it and strapping it up.”
