The Hundred: Confirmed teams and where England’s cricket stars will play

Will Macpherson15 October 2019

The ECB have confirmed the names of the eight teams for The Hundred and revealed which teams England’s top players will be representing.

Joe Root will play for Trent Rockets in Nottingham, Ben Stokes for Northern Superchargers in Leeds and Jofra Archer for Southern Brave in Southampton.

In London, Surrey captain Rory Burns swaps The Oval for Lord’s and London Spirit, who also have Eoin Morgan. The Curran brothers, Tom and Sam, and Jason Roy will play for Oval Invincibles.

Root said: “I’m incredibly excited to play for the Trent Rockets in The Hundred. This year has been monumental for cricket. There has never been a more exciting time for the game.’’

Standard Sport revealed the eight team names over the summer for the 100-ball competition which begins in July, but the ECB today confirmed the names and colours of the teams.
