Sorely missed: But Croatia coach Slaven Bilic wants Eduardo at Euro 2008 to support the team if possible

Eduardo faces at least nine months out, ending his hopes of appearing at the Euro finals.

But Bilic said: "I want Eduardo there and so do the players, it would also mean a lot to him. He has been a driving force on our road to the finals and has a big desire to be a morale-boosting factor during the event but it's up to his club, Arsenal, of course.

"He is making very good progress and we expect he will be able to jog lightly by the time Euro 2008 starts but he will need plenty of time to make a full recovery."

The coach was speaking ahead of tomorrow's friendly against Scotland at Hampden Park.
