Danvers has to settle for third place once more

Britain's Natasha Danvers finished in third place behind Melaine Walker and Anna Jesien in last night's 400 metres hurdles at the IAAF Super Grand Prix in Lausanne.

Danvers, the Olympic bronze medallist, lost second place to her Polish rival by 0.03sec, clocking 54.79.

Jamaica's Walker, the Olympic champion, dominated the race to win in 53.73 seconds.

Lisa Dobriskey was never in contention over 1500m as Maryam Jamal, who faltered in the Olympic final when a clear leader, won in 3min 59.84sec.

Dobriskey finished in 4:05.18, with the USA's Shannon Rowbury the runner-up in 4:01.97.

Nicola Sanders claimed third in the 400m 'B' race in 51.11sec, with Jamaican Novlene Williams, who took the bronze medal behind her in last summer's world championships, winning in 50.33sec.

Olympic finalist Sarah Claxton finished last in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.22sec, Jamaica's Delloreen Ennis-London winning in 12.60sec.
