Dennis happy for pal

14 April 2012

Dennis Rommedahl today said he is pleased striker Mateja Kezman joined Chelsea rather than Charlton.

The Danish winger moved to The Valley in a £2million deal four weeks ago and manager Alan Curbishley tried to land Kezman at the same time.

But Rommedahl’s former PSV team-mate went to the Stamford Bridge club instead.

Charlton’s new signing said: “I am happy for him. Charlton are good but Chelsea are really a top club.”

Curbishley confirmed today that he has been considering moves for Southampton’s James Beattie and former Arsenal star Sylvain Wiltord.

Rommedahl’s debut for Charlton ended in victory last night after Shaun Bartlett and Bryan Hughes scored in the 2-1 win at Wycombe.
