Dons self-destruct at Carrow Road

Norwich 3 Wimbledon 2

Peter Hawkins was sent off for pushing referee Phil Prosser and there was a bust-up between Adam Nowland and manager Stuart Murdoch as Wimbledon hit the self-destruct button at Carrow Road.

Late goals from Dean Holdsworth and Mikele Liegertwood reduced Norwich's winning margin, but Wimbledon were their own worst enemy. Nowland had to be escorted away by stewards after letting Murdoch know how unhappy he was at being substituted. "It's a matter that will be dealt with internally," was the manager's only comment.

Within a minute of Holdsworth's goal Wimbledon were reduced to 10 men when defender Hawkins, having been shown a yellow card in the first half, saw red when he took his protest too far with the referee.

Former Dons star Damien Francis and Mark Rivers (twice) were the Norwich scorers.
