Double joy for Larsson

13 April 2012

Henrik Larsson admitted he felt "tremendous" after his double strike had set a post-war Scottish goalscoring record and sent Celtic into the Scottish Cup final.

The Dutchman overtook Charlie Nicholas' mark of 48 goals with a double strike as Celtic recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory over Dundee United.

In reaching their 49th Scottish Cup final, Martin O'Neill's side are now just one step away from a glorious Treble.

Larsson told Sky Sports: "I feel tremendous. It was great to get the goals today, and we won and that's what we came to do."

"It was very difficult. We started off a little bit sloppy in the second half but once we got the second the game was finished."

Larsson claimed his team-mates were still not talking about the Treble - despite being just 90 minutes away from emulating Jock Stein's side, who were the last Celtic team to achieve the feat in 1969.

"We don't think about the Treble, we try to concentrate now on Hibs who we are going to play in the final," the striker added.

"I didn't think of a goals figure at all before the season, I try to go out and do my best every game and if I score a goal then that's great. "
