Eduardo could make a dramatic return to first-team football for Arsenal within the next nine weeks.

With Tomas Rosicky also set to play again in December, news that Croatian international Eduardo may be ready around the same time will give the Gunners a major boost.

Croatia coach Slaven Bilic, who is in regular contact with the striker, said: "Eduardo is making good progress, he's back in training and I think he's likely to play again some time around Christmas."

Eduardo suffered a broken fibula and dislocated ankle against Birmingham last February and he wasn't expected to return until the new year.
