England pair to continue at Quins

England stars Jason Leonard and Will Greenwood have both pledged their future to Harlequins by signing three-year contracts with the Zurich Premiership club.

Prop Leonard, who holds a record 91 caps for England, had been a target for Quins' London rivals Wasps.

But the Lion, 32, has now put pen to paper - extending a Quins career that began in 1990.

Quins chief executive Mark Evans said: 'Jason is in better physical shape than at any time in his long and illustrious career and he will play a vital role in the continued drive to take Harlequins back to the very top of the European game.'

Fellow Lion Greenwood, whose hopes of a Test cap in Australia during the summer were dashed by injury, has also agreed a three-year deal after rejoining Quins from Leicester last term.

Evans added: 'Will is a world-class centre - a player who you can build your team around.

'We've had a lot of changes at the club in recent times. We need to bring in some continuity so we can build for the future. Will's commitment will help us achieve this.'

Quins, the reigning European Shield champions, launch their Premiership campaign against London Irish on September 1, while the Heineken Cup group stage finds them drawn alongside Munster, Bridgend and Castres in Pool Four.
