The England and Wales Cricket Board have finalised next summer's international schedule.

The 2012 domestic season sees visits full tours from the West Indies and South Africa, as well as an additional visit from Australia's limited-overs side.

The Windies are first to arrive, with Tests at Lord's, Trent Bridge and Edgbaston followed by three ODIs and a Twenty20 match. Australia then play five ODIs before Suth Africa play three Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20 internationals. England will also play an ODI against Scotland.

West Indies had initially been marked to miss out on a traditional Test at the home of cricket but Cardiff opted to hand back their allocated match and HQ was selected on re-tender.

Australia, ranked number one in the 50-over format, then arrive for five one-dayers between June 29 and July 10.

The tantalising prospect of the world's top two Test sides then comes into view when South Africa touch down in early July.

The Proteas have two warm-up fixtures before beginning the three-Test series at the Kia Oval on July 19. A second clash at Headingley follows, with that match staged in the middle of the London 2012 Olympics, and Lord's hosts the final Test of the summer on August 16.

Five ODIs and two Twenty20 matches between the sides are next on the agenda, while England also have room for a 50-over match against Scotland on August 12.

In the county game, Cardiff's SWALEC Stadium will host the Friends Life t20 finals day for the first time and Lord's will once more stage the Clydesdale Bank 40 showpiece.

ECB chief executive David Collier said: "With England looking to maintain its position as the number one side in the ICC's World Test rankings and also preparing to defend the World T20 title in Sri Lanka next autumn, interest in next summer's international programme will be intense."
