Euell: It's hard to settle

Jason Euell fears that Charlton's season will start slowly because of the influx of new players.

Alan Curbishley's six new signings have had little time to get to know their new team-mates.

Charlton suffered an opening day rout at Bolton on Saturday and Euell said: "It's hard for any new player to come into the side and the international break has made it even harder.

"But hopefully it won't be too long before the new boys are into the swing of things."

Portsmouth now visit The Valley on Saturday, then Aston Villa travel next Wednesday.

Euell added: "We've got two home games and we want as many points as we can before the next international break."

Captain Matt Holland will miss the Portsmouth game with a twisted ankle, but hopes to be fit for the visit of Villa.
