Euell warns against sales

Jason Euell today urged Charlton to stick to their guns and keep hold of Scott Parker.

Charlton have rejected a ?6million offer for the England midfielder. Chelsea are reported to have made a second bid of ?8m but Euell is hoping his team-mate will finish the season at The Valley.

He said: "It's important we try to keep hold of all of our players. Chelsea might be trying to sign Scott but I sincerely hope he remains at the club.

"Scotty has been an integral part of our success these past couple of years and you don't receive England recognition unless you are playing very well. We don't have the biggest of squads. If Chelsea are really keen to sign Scott, no doubt they will offer silly money but I hope Charlton look at it more in the long term and try to put them off for the time being.

"It's a tough position for the club and for Scotty but the good thing is that he has time on his side.

"In any case, does he want to join a club right now and maybe only play occasionally, like Joe Cole, or would he be better off at Charlton where he is going to play every week?

"It's a decision only he can answer but I would love him to stay here. He's a quality player."
