Everton recorded back-to-back Barclays Premier League wins for the first time this season as strikes from Marouane Fellaini and Apostolos Vellios secured a 2-0 victory over 10-man Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.

The Toffees took the lead four minutes into the second half when Fellaini swept in from close range before substitute Vellios netted a second 12 minutes from time.

Wanderers had earlier had David Wheater sent off, the defender being shown a straight red card in the 20th minute for a challenge on Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, his second dismissal of the campaign.

Seamus Coleman burst forward for Everton in the third minute, but saw his shot blocked by Paul Robinson's sliding tackle, and Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen palmed the ball away when Phil Jagielka got a flick to Leighton Baines' free-kick.

Toffees stopper Tim Howard was called into action soon after, punching clear Ivan Klasnic's strike.

Wanderers were reduced to 10 men when Wheater was shown a straight red card by referee Michael Oliver after he had lunged in on Bilyaletdinov.

Howard caught a looping effort from Chris Eagles before Bilyaletdinov fired over from Coleman's cut-back and then a passing move almost put Bilyaletdinov through, only for the ball to escape him.

Gary Cahill just beat Tim Cahill to Coleman's centre to head away, but within a few seconds the Toffees were in front - Fellaini sliding in to stab a cross from the left into the roof of the net.

Jagielka headed a corner wide with the Toffees protesting that Kevin Davies had handled and Baines rifled an attempt over, before a rare Bolton attack saw Howard deny Klasnic with his legs.

Everton's second came when Baines crossed the ball in and Tim Cahill stretched to knock it back across the face of goal and Vellios scored.
