Everton: No Madrid bid for Gravesen

Everton officials are still waiting for Real Madrid to make a move for Thomas Gravesen.

Chief executive Keith Wyness has yet to hear from any club, let alone Real, with regard to the Denmark international midfielder who is out of contract in the summer.

Gravesen is free to open negotiations with any interested party and sign a pre-contract agreement if a new deal with his current club is not agreed.

However, Real are keen to push through a £2million move now during the current transfer window, and that would mean ratifying the deal with Everton.

Wyness, however, remains optimistic the 28-year-old will stay at Everton as he told the club's official website: "We've had no contact whatsoever from any club regarding Thomas.

"We will play the situation as it arises, if indeed something does arise.

"We know Tommy is happy at Everton and hopefully he will be here for some time to come."

However, Gravesen's agent John Sivebaek, has already held talks with Real officials about the possibility of the combative star moving to the Bernabeu.

"I'm in Madrid just to hear what they have to say," said Sivebaek.

"They'd like to have him now, but it's not in my hands, it is up to Everton."
Despite Wyness' claims they have had no contact from Real, Sivebaek concedes that is a situation that could change very quickly.

He added: "In this game something can happen in an hour or in a week. It is difficult to say.

"Obviously Real Madrid would be a big opportunity, but if he stays at Everton until the end of the season, I think he would also be happy with that."
