Return: Jagielka's return is good news for both Everton and England ahead of the World Cup

Everton captain Phil Jagielka returned to the starting line-up for the first time in 10 weeks after injury to face Manchester City at Goodison Park.

The England centre-back and Leon Osman replaced Gareth Barry, ineligible to play against his parent club, and Gerard Deulofeu from the side which lost at Southampton last week.

City made just one change from the win at Crystal Palace with Gael Clichy replacing Aleksandar Kolarov at left-back.

As James Milner and Javi Garcia retained their starting places ahead of David Silva and Fernandinho.

Everton: Howard, Stones, Jagielka, Alcaraz, Coleman, McCarthy, Osman, Baines, Lukaku, Naismith, Barkley. Subs: Robles, Hibbert, McGeady, Deulofeu, Distin, Garbutt, Ledson.

Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Milner, Javi Garcia, Toure, Nasri, Dzeko, Aguero. Subs: Lescott, Negredo, Kolarov, Silva, Fernandinho, Pantilimon, Jovetic.
