Exclusive David Beckham interview

14 April 2012

Wayne Rooney could not have a better manager than Sir Alex Ferguson to guide him through his impact on the world stage, claims David Beckham.

Beckham said: "Wayne is a great player and at a young age he could not have signed for a better club and have a better manager to look after him.

"I've heard Arsene Wenger is the same in the way he looks after the young players but I had experience of Old Trafford for so many years.

"As far as I am concerned, Wayne has a great starting point. He had David Moyes looking after him and now he has Sir Alex. But most important at his age, he must enjoy his football. He will have no problem with the Manchester United supporters. They will love him because he has come from Everton!"

The England captain reveals all about his life with Posh and their four minders, Sven and his sense of humour, his thoughts on Rooney, Michael Owen and Ryan Giggs plus the football schools he will run.
