Fans to target Tomasz

Tomasz Radzinski and Mark Pembridge return to Goodison Park tomorrow but they can expect very different receptions.

Radzinski left Everton for Fulham in the summer spitting fire.

"Last season was a disaster. Anyone who knows [manager] David Moyes will know he cannot make a decision and next season we'll be fighting another relegation battle," said the Canada international prior to securing a £1.75million transfer to west London.

Radzinski also slighted the signing of Marcus Bent and urged Wayne Rooney to leave.

By contrast, Welshman Pembridge was a popular figure during his four years on Merseyside.

Ian MacDonald, spokesman for the Everton Independent Supporters' Association, said: "People will be coming to put Radzinski to death but they will also want to wish Pembridge all the best.

"Pem was a great little player for Everton and he will get a standing ovation. But if I gave Radzinski any friendly advice it would be not to turn up because he will get a horrible reception and deservedly so.

"He will be seen for a Judas. He had no loyalty to the club."

Though Radzinski's outburst was ill-judged, he was not alone in predicting a difficult season for Evertonians.

The portents were hardly promising after a pre-season overshadowed by boardroom turmoil and the departure of Rooney.

But Moyes has answered his critics, leading Everton to third place in the Premiership.

Chris Coleman is hoping the hostile reaction of supporters will work in Radzinski's favour. "All that we can hope is that the atmosphere spurs him on," said the Fulham manager, who has named an unchanged squad.
