Ferdinand urges Ronaldo to stay

12 April 2012

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club and help lead them to more trophies.

Speculation over the Portugal winger's future grows by the day with Real Madrid's interest well known, but Ferdinand believes Ronaldo should remain at Old Trafford as he believes they can eclipse the feat of their recent Premier League and Champions League double.

"I want Ronny to stay and help us win more," Ferdinand told The Sun. "Right now United is the place to be. There is no better club in the world to play your football."

He added: "That night in Moscow (the Champions League final) was good but the thought in that dressing room was that although we enjoyed it, we had to do it again next year - if not even better.

"We want to be in the position to be challenging for all four trophies."
