Fergie to face FA rap

13 April 2012

Sir Alex Ferguson has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association after he clashed with referee Mike Dean.

The charge relates to Saturday's match with Hull at Old Trafford when the angry Manchester United manager marched onto the field immediately after his side's 4-3 win to remonstrate with the official.

Ferguson was thought to be upset that Dean, having already booked Michael Turner, did not send the defender off when he later fouled Michael Carrick.

Ferguson has been given until 19 November to respond to the charge.
