Fergie told to update club on Magnier row

Manchester United have told Sir Alex Ferguson to keep them informed on any developments in his bust-up with the club's biggest shareholder, John Magnier.

The row hit new heights this week after it was claimed the Irish racing tycoon had hired an investigation team to embarrass the United manager at last year's AGM.

Chief executive David Gill was not worried by the impact of the row on the club but said: "Alex is conscious he must keep us informed."
