Filbert Street sold for £3.75m

13 April 2012

Leicester City have sold their ground at Filbert Street - home for the last 111 years - to a development company.

The Foxes' plc board today told the Stock Exchange that GMD Developments had bought the five-acre site for £3.75 million with a view to completion next February.

Leicester, currently nine points adrift at the bottom of the Premiership table, are due to move into their new 32,000 capacity, all-seater stadium at nearby Freeman's Wharf for the start of next season.
