Injury blow: Ramsey leaves the Emirates field

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Aaron Ramsey will be absent for Arsenal for at least the next three weeks.

The Welsh midfielder picked up a hamstring injury during Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League, limping off an hour into the game.

His manager confirmed that Ramsey had been very disappointed to miss the crucial closing stages of the match and there was more bad news for the midfielder as a scan confirmed he will miss the return leg and the north London derby.

“He had a scan today but he’s out. I believe he will be out until after the next international break,” Wenger confirmed ahead of Saturday’s game against Everton. “With the [last] international break, the fact that he played against Andorra certainly cost Bale and him as well.

Ramsey’s injury leaves Wenger increasingly light on options in attacking positions, with Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky all out until the New Year.
