AC Milan claim they are not looking to convince Chelsea coach Antonio Conte to take charge next season.

The Serie A club have been heavily linked with a move for Conte throughout this year, especially since they were taken over by Sino-Europe Sports in April.

AC Milan spent over £150m on 11 signings this summer but currently sit in seventh place in Serie A.

Current manager Vincenzo Montella is under increasing pressure for his position and AC Milan were thought to be planning to try and lure Conte away from Chelsea.

But AC Milan director of football Massimiliano Mirabelli said: "We already have a manager and we are not thinking of Conte nor about other managers."

Conte's long-term future at Stamford Bridge continues to be the subject of much speculation.

The former Italy midfielder only agreed to a pay-rise, rather than a contract extension, in July so has less than two years left on his current deal to run.

Conte also gave an interview to RadioUno last month admitting that he is missing Italy and revealed there is 'not a doubt in my mind that I will be home before long'.

Chelsea maintained that part of the interview was lost in translation and Conte was talking about some time in the distant future.

However, Conte was frustrated about the club's transfer business in the summer even though they spent £186m on six new players.

The 48-year-old was particularly upset over the failure to buy left wing back Alex Sandro from Juventus as well as another striker, with one of his main targets Fernando Llorente ending up moving to Tottenham on deadline day from Swansea.

Chelsea already trail Manchester City and Manchester United in the title race by six points and have won just once in four League games at home.

The Blues take on bottom club Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday with N'Golo Kante and Alvaro Morata both unlikely to feature due to hamstring injuries, but David Luiz returns from suspension.
