AFC 'work their socks off'

Spot on: Terry Brown's tactics were perfect
11 April 2012

Terry Brown believes AFC Wimbledon's work rate was the key to dumping Scunthorpe out of the FA Cup last night.

The south Londoners earned themselves a clash with Bradford on December 3 after Luke Moore's second-half strike was enough to clinch the replay at Glanford Park.

AFC executed a perfect away game plan, sitting deep and soaking up Scunthorpe's pressure before hitting the League One side on the break.

Brown said: "I don't think we played particularly well. But we worked our socks off to come to a League One side and beat them away from home.

"We came into the game on the back of a really hard game against Swindon, so that was difficult. I'm really glad it didn't go to extra-time as we were blowing at the end."

The former Aldershot Town manager reserved special praise for match-winner Moore and fellow forward Charlie Ademeno, adding: "They haven't played recently but came in and did well."
