Alberto Aquilani ready to extend Juventus stay

11 April 2012

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is likely to sign a permanent deal with Juventus at the end of the season, according to the player's agent.

The Italy international was allowed to return to Serie A by former Reds boss Roy Hodgson last August after just one injury-afflicted season in the Barclays Premier League.

And Aquilani's representative Franco Zavaglia has suggested his client is ready to extend his stay in Turin this summer despite being linked with former club Roma.

"Aquilani to Roma? That will be difficult. Juve has the priority and I don't think they will let him escape," he told Italian broadcaster Radio Mana Mana.

"On June 30 Juventus will be able to buy Aquilani and they should act now.

"They could sign him by making three to four delayed payments, a system which was established last summer. The agreement between Liverpool and Juventus is already there, it all depends on the willingness of Juventus.

"I think Aquilani will stay at Juventus and there will not be any obstacles."
