Matteo Darmian has ranked Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard as the toughest opponents he has faced while at Manchester United.

The defender faced the Chilean in November's 1-1 draw but missed the 4-0 thrashing by Hazard's Chelsea three weeks prior.

Hazard was the star of the show as Premier League leaders Chelsea effectively ended Arsenal's title ambitions for a 13th successive year on Saturday, scoring a contender for goal of the season in a 3-1 win.

Sanchez, while on the losing end at Stamford Bridge, has impressed all season with 15 goals to his name and memorably scored twice as Arsenal beat United 3-0 last season.

"If I have to mention one from the Premier League, it’s difficult because there are a lot of very good players," he replied when asked by the club's official website.

"We have a lot of very good players in our team as well – but if I have to choose one from another team, I think it’s maybe Eden Hazard or Alexis Sanchez."

He added: "I think in Serie A, probably Carlos Tevez, when he played for Juventus. I think he was one of the most difficult opponents to play against in Serie A.

"He had a lot of things in his game but I think the best thing was his character because he never gave up, he tried to follow every player to take the ball.
