Happy Alexis Sanchez day! A year ago today the Chilean forward completed his £35 million move from Barcelona, and what a year it has been.
Few would have predicted Sanchez would take to the Premier League so quickly but within weeks of arriving he had established himself as a fan favourite, before quickly establishing himself as his side’s most important, reliable and downright thrilling player.
And even as he returns from another gruelling competition, the Copa America in Chile, Gunners fans doubtless can’t wait to see the energetic forward in action. They will have to wait a while though, with Sanchez likely to miss the start of the season as he recovers from a mammoth two years of almost non-stop action.
