Alexis Sanchez is the LeBron James of the Premier League, according to his Arsenal team-mate Nacho Monreal.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward James is widely acknowledged to be the best player in the NBA and ranks alongside Michael Jordan as one of the greatest basketball players in history.
Though Sanchez is far from as garlanded as James both players show a remorseless will to win that has Monreal seeing similarities between Arsenal’s star forward and ‘the King’.
“I think Alexis Sanchez is the LeBron James of the Premier League,” Monreal said. “He is one of the best players in the league and I have the opportunity to train with him every single morning.
“I know how competitive he is, a trait that he shares with King James himself.”
Monreal and many of his Arsenal team-mates will likely once more be in the crowd when the NBA rolls into London in January for what promises to be a mouth-watering contest.
The Boston Celtics, who have won their last 15 in a row, will be the nominal away team against a vibrant young Philadelphia 76ers at the O2 Arena.
“It’s a special moment as we don’t have the chance to see NBA games live every single day,” Monreal added. “I went last year and it was amazing, the arena, the crowd, the game.
“I think everyone who has the opportunity to go, should really go and enjoy the game. I think the Celtics will win – they’re a better team now.”
