Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez needs to be "on point" for the Gunners to win the Premier League title this season, according to Thierry Henry.

Sanchez has spent the majority of his Arsenal career on the flank but has been deployed in a central role by Arsene Wenger in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old has thrived up front, despite initial doubts that he was not suited to the role, scoring four goals in eight top-flight appearances this term.

Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil have also been in fine form during Arsenal's six-game winning streak but Henry is adamant Sanchez is the man who is capable of firing his former side to the title.

"You need that guy to be on point for Arsenal to win the league," Henry told Sky Sports. "The way he likes to share the ball, his work ethic, he will give you an assist as well.

"You need guys who are willing to help him and at the moment you have that.

"You need that 'plus guy' and Alexis Sanchez - he is that 'plus guy'."

Henry has also played down Arsenal's winning run and believes the Gunners' upturn in form has been due to a marked effort to press higher up the pitch.

"They usually have that [winning] run during the season," Henry told Sky Sports.

"But besides the run it's about how they're putting pressure now.

"There is something happening, especially with Alex Sanchez playing as a nine.

"Alexis Sanchez does it ever so well for Chile when he plays as a nine and now he does it for Arsenal."
