Alvaro Morata says he is starting to thrive under Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri.

The Spaniard has recovered from a slow start to the campaign to score three goals in his last five games.

Morata, who joined from Real Madrid for £58million last year, appeared to be relegated below Oliver Giroud in the pecking order earlier in the season. However, he has started five of the last seven matches.

And Morata said: "I'm in a good way now. I want to score more goals, to play more games, but at the end of the day the most important thing is that the team wins. The other things come with that.

"Right now we are near the top of the league and we are in a good position in the Europa League and League Cup.

"We need to continue in the current way because I think we can fight for all the trophies this year."

Morata admitted earlier in the season that one of the reasons he struggled in his first season at the club was because of former manager Antonio Conte's tactics.

The 26-year-old complained that he "suffered" under the Italian and appears to be enjoying Sarri's method's much more.

He added: "We have a concept this year to play nearer the goal and to do this we need to have the ball.

"The philosophy is that if we have the ball most of the time, the other team doesn't have it, which is very important because they won't be able to make a lot of chances.

"But it's not only about the ball, it's about your movement when you don't have possession and you make the space for a team-mate.

"The players really enjoy this kind of game. For most of the game, we have the ball in the other team's half of the pitch and that's good for us."

Eden Hazard, who is the club's top scorer this term with eight goals, has recovered from a back injury and will face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Giroud sat out the League Cup win over Derby with a leg problem but should be included in the squad this time. Ethan Ampadu is also fully fit following a knee issue.
