Andy Scott slams 'stupid' side

Ian Gibb11 April 2012

Andy Scott was off on one again last night after Brentford went down 2-1 at Peterborough, conceding the winner in injury‑time.

The angry manager blamed Karleigh Osborne, Nicky Forster and Marcus Bean for their role in Jon Obika's late goal.

It was his team's third loss in a row and Scott said: "We need to cut out stupid mistakes in stupid areas and giving stupid goals away. We gave the ball away cheaply in the last couple of minutes; Nicky gave it away, Karleigh gave it away, Beany fouled, Karleigh fouled. We played well for most of the game and lost. I'm sick of saying things like that."

Darren Ferguson was today named the new manager of Peterborough on a four-and-a-half-year deal, returning to the club he led to two promotions.
