Antonio Conte feels Chelsea form is overshadowed by record-breaking Manchester City

Antonio Conte has highlighted Chelsea's recent impressive form as the Premier League champions enter a busy festive period attempting to keep pace with runaway leaders Manchester City.

Since succumbing to a shock 2-1 loss away to Crystal Palace - who at the time were rock-bottom - in mid-October, Chelsea have won all but two top-flight games.

The Blues drew 1-1 against Liverpool at Anfield in late November before losing 1-0 away to relegation-battlers West Ham last weekend.

Yet despite Chelsea's fine form in the Premier League in their last 10 games, City still sit 11 points above the champions and can go back 14 points above Conte's men should they defeat Tottenham on Saturday evening.

But Conte insists he is pleased with his team's showing since the loss to Palace and says he would take a similar run of results in the club's next 10 games.

"I want to remember that in the last 10 games, we won eight games, drew only one game against Liverpool away and lost only one game, at West Ham," Conte said on Saturday.

"If someone asks me if I want to sign for this in the next 10 games, I'm ready. Someone is forgetting this run because there is a team winning every game [Manchester City]...

However, Conte was not fully satisfied with his side's finishing against Southampton - with the hosts spurning all but one of their eight shots on target at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea still ran out 1-0 winners against a battling Southampton side, but Conte urged his forwards to make his life and, indeed, theirs easier by scoring more goals.

He added: "Yesterday during the press conference I said we had to pay great attention to play against Southampton. This is a good team.

"I'm happy because my players played a game with great concentration. We deserved to win.

"When the score is only 1-0, despite the fact you create many chances to score a second goal, you don't stay more relaxed. But I'm happy because I saw the right attention, the right commitment of my players. We finished with a clean sheet. I think it's important for our goalkeeper, for our team.

"This season we've created many chances, but we must be more accurate with the finishing. When you score more than one goal, you can stay more relaxed. Me, as well as my players."
