Chelsea midfielder Oscar has revealed that Antonio Conte's first training session at Cobham was heavily based on tactics, with the Italian being "very clear" about what he expects from his players.

Conte took charge of his first two training sessions at Chelsea's base in Cobham on Wednesday following his arrival in London a day earlier, and the Italian was described as being "very vocal" throughout as he gave his players advice about their passing, patterns of play and their ability to keep the ball.

Indeed, pictures showed the former Juventus and Italy boss shouting instructions out to his players as they were put through their paces ahead of their first pre-season match against Rapid Vienna on Saturday.

And Oscar has revealed just how Conte's first session went - saying it was "very tactical" and involved the 46-year-old being extremely clear about how he wants his new team to play next season.

"I really liked it and I think the team are really going to improve a lot this season," Oscar told Chelsea's official website.

"He’s very clear about what he wants from us. He spoke to everyone and it was very tactical with some good movements from the players."

Speaking about returning to action for Chelsea, Oscar added: "I missed playing and I’m glad to be back. We are all training really hard and looking forward to the pre-season matches.

"Training has been very hard because it was a long break for me. But that’s what pre-season is all about, getting fit for the matches."
