Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has questioned Manchester United's decision to let Paul Pogba leave in 2012.

The Italian legend praised the 20 year-old French midfielder, who left Old Trafford after struggling to seal a first team place in Sir Alex Ferguson's team, and has since gone on to establish himself as one of Europe's top midfielders.

Buffon told TV show Tiki Taka: "Pogba is one of those players who leaves you speechless.

"When he came we didn't know him but after only three or four training sessions we were impressed by his enormous qualities.

"My team-mates and me looked at each other as to say 'Are they blind in Manchester?' (to let him go away)."

Pogba has been linked with a return to Manchester United but it is understood that the player feels so aggrieved by his treatment during his time at the club that he has ruled out a return.
