The Kazakhstan and Belarus champions - FC Astana and BATE Borisov - have both secured more Uefa club coefficient points than Arsenal this season after the Gunners' endured a disastrous start to their Champions League campaign.

Arsene Wenger's side currently sit bottom of Group F after a chastening defeat to Olympiakos on Tuesday night and face an uphill task to qualify for the knock-out stages ahead of back-to-back fixtures against an in-form Bayern Munich.

The north London club are ranked 10th in Uefa's overall table but have amassed a total of just 4.7 points this term and suffered the indignity of being outshone by some of the competition's smallest sides.

FC Astana were comfortably beaten by Benifca on matchday one but created history as they drew 2-2 with Turkish side Galatasaray to secure their first ever point in the competition on Wednesday night.

BATE Borisov, meanwhile, were thumped 4-1 by Bayer Leverkusen in the first fixture of their European campaign but responded in superb fashion to claim a shock 3-2 win at the expense of Serie A side Roma.

Arsenal can still recover from their stuttering start but failure to progress past the group stages is expected to cost the Gunners £10m in revenue.
