Alexandre Lacazette scored a hat-trick as an Arsenal XI beat Brentford B 4-1 in a friendly on Wednesday afternoon.

Rob Holding also got on the scoresheet for the Gunners, who played the behind-closed-doors match at their London Colney training ground.

The Bees did manage to find the net, with defender Julian Jeanvier scoring as he continues his recovery from injury.

Arsenal fielded a side full of many youngsters given the fact much of their squad is away on international duty.

Bernd Leno did start in goal, though, with Holding and Nuno Tavares part of the defence in front of him.

Youngsters Charlie Patino and Miguel Azeez played together in midfield, while Eddie Nketiah and Lacazette were part of the attack.

They combined for Arsenal’s opener on 21 minutes, with Lacazette scoring. The Frenchman added a second just after half-time by pouncing on a rebound and then completed his hat-trick 10 minutes later.

Holding made it 4-0 on the hour mark as he headed home from a corner, while the Bees got one back late on through Jeanvier.
