Hector Bellerin believes his decision to trade in Barcelona for Arsenal has paid off, and the Spain international does not envisage returning to his homeland.
The right-back joined Arsenal from the Catalan side at just 16 years of age in 2011, following a path previously trodden with great success by Cesc Fabregas and less impressively by Fran Merida.
The 20-year-old has now firmly established himself as Arsene Wenger’s first-choice in his position, having made the most of Mathieu Debuchy’s injury absences last season.
And whilst Bellerin praised Barcelona for the skills it had ingrained in him during his youth he showed no signs of regret over leaving the Spanish and European champions.
"It has paid off," Bellerin told Sky Sports. "I am very happy with the decision I made.
"Barcelona is an academy where you are taught to play the Barcelona way, all the players can play the ball well.
"It is all the same philosophy since you are young to playing in the first team - that is very important."

Arsenal fans have seen several of their brightest players, including Fabregas, Alexander Hleb and Thomas Vermaelen, depart for the Camp Nou but Bellerin made clear he has no intention of joining them at the Emirates exit door.
"It was hard, but I always say the train comes just once and you either take it or you do not.
"I took it and I am very happy with the opportunity Arsenal have given me and very happy to be in the position I am in today.
"I have always said the reason I came to Arsenal is because I want to stay here and I am not thinking about going anywhere else."
