Arsenal fan Idris Elba: I would be physically sick if Tottenham won the Premier League title

Luther star and Arsenal fan Idris Elba is, like a great many of his fellow Gooners, getting rather nervous. It’s been over 20 years since their most-hated rivals finished above them in the Premier League.

But this could be the year that Tottenham finally overhaul Arsene Wenger and claim north London bragging rights.

That their success could also lead to a title is a thought that is terrifying Elba and other Arsenal supporters.

“I’d be physically ill, literally throwing up,” he told BBC Football Focus on the prospect of Spurs clinching the title.

“They haven’t been doing that great for ages, so now they’re doing alright good luck to them.”

Perhaps concerned about the possibility of Leicester letting their advantage slip Elba backed the Foxes to come through one of their sternest tests in the remainder of their season, predicting a 2-0 win over West Ham.

Tottenham still require a remarkable turnaround to claim the title from the surprise league leaders. Leicester hold a seven point advantage over Mauricio Pochettino’s side with just five games left for both sides.
