Standard Sport30 July 2014

Olivier Giroud has been offered a two-year contract extension at Arsenal, according to reports in France.

The deal would keep the France forward at the club until 2018.

Giroud, who joined Arsenal for £12million from Montpellier in 2012, has been in talks with the Gunners about a new contract.

The 27-year-old scored 22 goals last season and established himself as a key member of Arsene Wenger’s squad. He carried Arsenal’s goalscoring burden for most of the campaign but will be helped this season following the signing of Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell returning from loan.
