Young Gunners: Beckham posted a pic with other Arsenal juniors - but has been released by the club
Tom Farmery24 February 2015

Brooklyn Beckham's dream to follow in his father's footsteps and become a professional footballer has suffered a setback as it emerged that Arsenal will not be offering him a scholarship.

The 15-year-old son of England and Manchester United legend David Beckham and pop star turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham has been enrolled at the Gunners' Hale's End academy.

But Standard Sport understands that the club have opted not to retain the teenager this summer.

The young Beckham appeared to be enjoying life at Arsenal, posting pictures with teammates while a video of him hitting the cross bar during an U-16s game also went viral.

His 39 year-old father was photographed at Liverpool's Melwood training facility last week watching Brooklyn play for the Arsenal junior side.

Brooklyn appeared to channel his father's talents earlier this month when he posted a video of this screaming shot on his Instagram account.

The clip shows the teenager rattle the crossbar a half volley for Arsenal Under 16s.
